Chelsey & Ty's Growing Family

This adorable couple braved the pandemic to photograph their first pregnancy. We met at the Botanical Gardens when it first opened, before other people started to arrive and while the sun was still low. I wore a mask through it all, even in the humid morning air.

We began with some of my favorite spots, mainly because they're located at the entrance and require masks. So we took advantage of the greenhouses being empty so they could be mask free for their photos. As soon as people arrived we moved on to the next location.

Since the gardens are a popular photo destination, I try to change things up for each client, to make their photos unique from my previous clients. If you choose the gardens and want to try out of the ordinary poses, just let me know and we'll make it happen. I think I succeeded with this session. -- Still looking for a couple who wants to take photos in the big chairs, by the way! (Of course its not really a good option for maternity pics).

I love seeing how the gardens change with the seasons, too. The wisteria may not have been in bloom yet, but the leaves were in full force for their session. The poppies from the spring were gone and replaced with new blooms for our summer session. I'm looking forward to returning this fall for anyone who wants to choose this location for their family, engagement, maternity session!

This couple was so photogenic and easy going. Their session was a breeze. I love when I can pose a couple and don't need to supply any prompts because they genuinely make each other smile with a look or a few words. She also had some experience in front of a camera so she knew exactly when to switch up her hands and when to look somewhere new. Can't wait to work with these two again when their little one arrives later this summer.

Congrats!!
