In the beginning of November I met with some of my favorite clients at Confluence Park for a Children's Portrait Session. I love photographing this family (and their relatives) because they're all so easy going and their little ones usually love being in front of the camera. Though some times they enjoy running away from the camera.
It was my first time having a photo session at Confluence Park. I'm always up for shooting at new locations and excited when families are willing to try something new with me. It wasn't the only thing new that day. I had just purchased a new camera and it was my first session using it!
We met at 8:30 am, a little later than originally planned, because it was a very chilly morning. But the cold didn't seem to bother their little girl who had a lot of fun running around and exploring the park.
Since the Holidays were just around the corner, I took a few family photos for them as well. If you've hired me before, you know that I prefer a "lifestyle" form of photography. It's somewhere between posed and documentary. Children's sessions lean more towards documentary style as I let them run around, sit, be held, just be themselves for the majority of our time together. Which means, I capture them with their parents, when they're laughing or crying, and when they're not looking at the camera.
These style of images, I think, reflect life. It's fun, messy, busy, true. They represent who your family is at this time in your life. And I love them.
