It's hard to believe this session was in the beginning of March, before everything changed. I'm so glad we were able to do this maternity session under normal circumstances. Though I was actually practicing social distancing before that was a common thing because I was recovering from a cold. I care a lot about the well-being of my clients, especially when they are several months pregnant (or newborns). Odd to look back now and think how me using hand sanitizer, not shaking hands, and trying not to be too much in their personal space is how I interact with everyone.
As hard as things are today, it's nice to be able to look back at photographs and only feel the love and joy that was captured in that moment. Its a brief escape to a worry-free time in one's life - a time of excitement.
These two were so easy going and comfortable with one another during our session. They'd giggle together and enjoy being in each other's presence. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet and work with them!
We had their session in Old Town Helotes, a first for me. And I've said it before, I am always open to exploring new locations, especially when it has significance for my clients. These two had their engagement photos taken in Old Town so it was nice to recreate some of their old memories. I arrived early to scope out the location and found so many great backdrop options; we could have easily spent over an hour taking photos.
Looking forward to more sessions in this location in the future!
I'm also thinking about all of my spring parents-to-be and wish them well during this time! I hope to see you all again soon to photograph your newborns (even if they are no longer newborns at the time).
If you're currently expecting , I may not be able to offer a maternity session for a while due to Covid-19 concerns. The best time to schedule a maternity session is when you are around 30 weeks pregnant. If that falls around Autumn for you, let's schedule a maternity session!
If a maternity session is sadly unavailable, depending on your due date, maybe we can schedule an in-home newborn session this Fall. Feel free to email inquiries to ohtannenbaumphotos@gmail.com.
Have you already given birth and sad you can't have an in-home newborn session with me? Let's schedule a Not A Newborn Session this fall. Your baby is just as precious at 2 months, 4 months, or 6 months, as they are within those first few weeks. But, if you'd like to take some photos of your baby while they're still tiny, sign up for my guide on How to Take Newborn Photos.
