It was a dark and stormy night...or at least it could have been. Luckily the storm clouds stayed in the distance and the rain with them. Although humidity was heavy and the light hid behind the clouds, this family had a successful maternity session.
I met this family almost one year ago, when I first started my business. They saw the Holiday Mini Session I was offering with my sister-in-law (Cate Creative) and decided they were overdue for family photos. You can see some of their photos on my website. I remember them as being a really sweet family. So I was ecstatic that they thought of me when it came time to capture this precious moment in their family's life!
Can I just take a minute to say "that dress!". What a vision. Even though I'm not expecting, I asked where she bought it because its just so pretty! It's from Amazon, ladies.
You can't tell by the photos, but their son was feeling unwell this evening. I didn't make him do anything he didn't want to do, didn't have him tickled, and let him be held only if he was up for it. He was a trooper during the session and even had moments of giggles and fun. My philosophy is to let kids be themselves during a session and they'll create some great photos without even trying. When emotions are pure and real, there's nothing better!
